2007 saw the birth of a refreshing concept in the world of nanotechnology. With leading figures from the markets of personal and health care, electronics, plastics, polymers, composites coatings and inks, focus was squarely on bringing nanomaterials to market. This allowed all those involved to really get to grips with the major hurdles and opportunities that the nanotechnology revolution presents.
NanoMaterials07 saw over 200 delegates from all over the UK and Europe converge on Newcastle to listen, discuss and forge new connections in nanomaterials. Practical advice on key issues such as safety, health and the environment, expert opinion on scaling up production, and the identification of markets allowed for a truly accessible event.
The conference brought together figures from diverse industries and enabled commentaries on the convergence of technologies. It also introduced people who would mutually benefit by working together to achieve commercialisation.
Read what some of last year's delegates had to say about the event:-
"Well structured programme - great overview of most applications. Clearly a great deal of effort has been put into the structure of the meeting - very successful. Enjoyed the ability to get an overview. Keeping presentations short and encouraging more detailed networking outside of the sessions is very helpful"
Huntsman
"The mix and balance of speakers was excellent and well chosen..."
Unilever
"Very little to improve on, everything was very well organised."
Cambridge University
"The whole event was informative and very well organised, and being focused on the commercialisation of nanomaterials, it was different from other nano events I've encountered."
